These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God,

Heaven is a free gift.  We do not deserve it and cannot earn it.

God is loving and merciful, therefore he doesn’t want to punish us.  He is also holy, righteous, and just.  Therefore, He hates sin.

Intellectual belief is not enough.  True faith is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation.
