Part of the Book of Hebrews series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This week we will study Hebrews 6:9-12 as the writer transitions back to speaking to the redeemed Jews in the church with the goal of encouraging them to continue to love God and minister in the body of Christ. In addition, the writer is speaking again to those who have not yet come to faith and is using the example of the redeemed, so that they would have the same assurance and hope in order to obtain the ultimate better promise of New Covenant salvation.

Hebrews 6:9–12 (Listen)

Though we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things—things that belong to salvation. 10 For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. 11 And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
