A Resounding Reminder (2 Peter 1:12-15)

Bob SchultzBob Schultz, February 26, 2012
Part of the 2 Peter series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Today the Bible will teach us the value of a resounding reminder, the reality that Peter’s death was near, and the recollection that comes after repeated hearing, so that we would be stirred up in our faith.

May we see the value of reminding others of God’s truth so they would be stirred up in their faith. May we be stirred up in our faith as we continue to be reminded of truths we have already learned, knowing our time is short.

2 Peter 1:12–15 (Listen)

12 Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. 13 I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder, 14 since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 15 And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.
