The Rapture & Day of the Lord - Part 4 (2 Thessalonians 2:13-15)

Bob SchultzBob Schultz, February 3, 2013
Part of the 2 Thessalonians series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This week we will continue our study in II Thessalonians by looking at v.13-15. Paul will bring out three aspects related to the hope we have in our salvation and in Christ’s return.

In this brief paragraph, Paul will teach the people who were fearful and anxious about the reality of their salvation. Reminding them it was all of God for the sole purpose of the glory of God. So that they would not be moved from what he had already taught them. Because of their salvation, they must stand firm related to the truth and not be moved by error or ever-changing circumstances.

2 Thessalonians 2:13–15 (Listen)

13 But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. 14 To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.
