Below you will find the slides presented during Adult Sunday School on our study book ‘The Atonement’ by Leon Morris. It was the last night of Jesus’ earthly life. He was sitting in the upper room with his disciples, during the course of the meal he took some bread and wine giving thanks to God. In this way Jesus began the service of Holy Communion, a service that continued throughout the centuries connecting his shed blood with a new covenant. Chapter 1 of ‘The Atonement’ is an exploration of what Jesus meant by ‘the new covenant in my blood’ (1Cor 11:23-25; Mark 14:24).
